Community groups interested in applying for Heritage Lottery funding are invited to take part in an Oxford advice surgery.
Ann Young, South East development manager for Heritage Lottery Funding, said: "There's often a misconception that heritage is just about museums and historic buildings, but it's not.
"Heritage can also encompass people's traditions, culture and memories.
"If you look at the types of projects we've funded in the past, they've included parks, gardens and wildlife."
HLF will fund projects costing at least £5,000.
Anyone who would like to develop a project, or get advice, can book a half-hour slot at the surgery in County Hall, New Road, Oxford, on July 9, from 10am to 3pm.
For more details, or to book a place, call 0207 591 6085/6268 or e-mail southeastengland@hlf.org.uk
