Oxford United's dismal Tuesday night home record has been kicked into touch - because they will be playing on a Wednesday.
The club's application to change their midweek home night from a Tuesday to a Wednesday has been accepted by the Football League.
The first Wednesday night third division fixture next season will be against Torquay United at the Kassam Stadium on October 1.
The U's always used to play on a Wednesday at the Manor Ground and many of their best cup victories have been on that night.
But it was changed to a Tuesday after successive managers felt it was easier to prepare for a forthcoming Saturday fixture if they had an extra day, and in recent seasons, United's players have had Wednesday as their day off.
However, the team have struggled to win at home in night matches in recent seasons and it's five years since they last recorded a home league win on a Tuesday.
One other switch sees United's Easter Saturday home game against Boston United moved to Good Friday, April 9.
