HORSPATH kept up their bid for cycle speedway's British Premier League title and their 100 per cent record with an impressive 98-79 victory at reigning champions Southampton.
The Oxfordshire side, who are now clear favourites for the title with four games left to play, went into the break with a ten-point lead at 49-30.
But the second half was much closer with Horspath having to close ranks, though they did not suffer any heat losses. The final three heats were all drawn as Horspath cruised home.
Horspath scorers: Nowacki 18, Morgans 13+4, Harris 12+4, Harper 12+1, Szymanski 12+1, Boaler 12+1, Liebermann 10, Hutt 9+1.
Horspath's second team lost 78-51 to a strong Southampton team.

HORSPATH host the fifth round of the junior league today (12 noon) when Mark Boaler, Rachel Edge and Leigh White represent the home side.
Tomorrow, Horspath bid for the semi-finals of the British Team Championship at Midlands team Sandwell.
