With most of us still nursing New Year hangovers, it's probably fortunate there are not many musical offerings to tempt the hardened gig-goer in the first few days of January.
However, it is worth scribbling a few notes in your new diary, as the Zodiac, gears up for a almighty year of live rock.
Those hard-working boys from Longview make another visit, following their three shows last year. Their gig on January 13 is in support of their new single Still, taken from critically-acclaimed debut album Mercury.
Merseyside hopefuls The Zutons arrive the next day, while January 17 sees the long-overdue return of local heroes Goldrush, featuring songwriting brothers Robin and Joe Bennett, Steventon's masters of country-rock and the brains behind the county's annual Truck Festival.
Later this month, the venue plays host to Homegrown (supported by Allister), Catch 22, Gene, and Ginger.
Watchers of up-and-coming local talent should head to the club on January 30 for the latest Gappy Tooth Industries night, which showcases Cyrus and Redox.
The month ends on an American twang, with a USA double bill on the 31st featuring Matchbook Romance and Jackson (no, that's not Michael...he's otherwise occupied).
Jackson features Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett, which should have all metal-heads heading down the Cowley Road.
Looking further ahead, The Rapture, Chimaira, Courtney Pine's Devotion, the Modey Lemon, Span, Dogs Die in Hot Cars and Oxfordshire's Winnebago Deal head up the eclectic action.
