Banbury Utd 1, Eastleigh 2: Two goals from former Oxford United striker Nicky Banger sunk Banbury in Saturday's Dr Martens League Eastern Division clash at Spencer Stadium on Saturday.
Banbury United striker George Redknap gets stuck in against Eastleigh
Banbury, who were anxious to avoid a repeat of their 6-1 thrashing by the Hampshire side last month, started well with Mark Simms heading wide from David Billington's cross on 16 minutes.
Two minutes later, Eastleigh's keeper made a great reaction save from George Redknap.
But on 31 minutes, Eastleigh broke the deadlock when Banger converted a right-wing cross.
Banbury fought back, equalising five minutes later when in-form striker George Redknap scored his fourth goal in two games.
He crashed the ball home after Jason Allen, who was making his 100th appearance for Banbury, flicked on Billington's free-kick.
Banbury keeper Simon Tricker then made a great save to deny Eastleigh's Stephen Richardson.
After the break, Banbury dominated, but couldn't turn their superiority into goals.
And on 78 minutes, Banger scored his second goal of the contest, his 25-yard free-kick taking a wicked deflection off the Banbury wall on its way to the net.
Although Banbury tried to get back in the game, Eastleigh held on.
