Holiday-makers in Oxfordshire have not been put off travelling abroad by the cancellation of flights due to security fears.
Travel agents at the weekend said it was business as usual in the traditionally busy period after New Year, despite the reported disruption at Heathrow airport on Thursday and Friday (January 1 and 2) when a flight to Washington was grounded two days running.
British Airways also withdrew Saturday's flight from Heathrow to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia following Government advice not to operate the flight for security reasons.
But travel agents in Oxfordshire said the cancelled flights and heightened concern about possible terrorist attacks did not appear to be discouraging people from making holiday plans.
Jennie Rivers, of Bicester Travel Centre, said: "We seem to be operating as usual. People are still coming in and asking for flights and picking up brochures for all over the world."
Jade Middleton, of Travelcare in Kidlington, said: "We haven't noticed any difference at all."
Becky Brown, of Lunn Poly in Oxford, said people were still happy to book long-haul flights and they had not yet noticed any impact on business following last week's cancelled flights.
