Another new business has opened in Abingdon after £100,000 was spent transforming a former cafe into a hairdressers.
It took almost six months to convert the 15th century listed building in East Helen Street, pictured.
The Philosophy salon, which has eight staff, is being run by Mark Creed, Sam Harding and Andrew Hall, formerly of Mahogany salons in Oxford and London.
Martin Gannon, who founded Mahogany in 1980, has been recruited as a consultant to the new business. He said: "We aim to bring top quality hairdressing to Abingdon and eventually to other market towns in Oxfordshire."
Mr Gannon said the town was improving, and added: "A few years ago Abingdon was struggling, but in the last 18 months or so we have seen it bounce back. More shops are reopening to cater for a growing population from expanding residential developments in the central area. The future is looking good."
