OXFORD City defender Andy Marriott has returned to his former club Didcot Town after only a handful of games for the Ryman League Division 1 outfit.
Marriott made his debut for the Hellenic League Premier Division title-challengers in 1994, and top-scored for three consecutive seasons between 1998 and 2000.
But it was his defensive qualities that attracted the then City boss Paul Lee, following a successful trial at Court Place Farm.
City manager Andy Sinnott, who took over as manager last month after Lee quit, said Marriott had decided to move as he was unable to guarantee the 31-year-old a first-team place.
Sinnott said: "At his age he can't afford to be be watching games. It's a mutual agreement. We have kept his registration, so that we can bring him in if we need to.
"We wish Andy all the best. It has all been very amicable."
