The shadow Home Secretary is set to visit Bicester in a bid to boost pressure on the Government over the controversial asylum seekers' accommodation centre.
Conservative MP David Davis will stop off in the town on his way back to his Yorkshire constituency to take part in a Question Time-style public meeting.
The event is being supported by Bicester Action Group (BAG), which was set up to fight Government plans to build the 750-person centre on surplus MoD land between Arncott and Piddington.
The meeting will take place at Bicester Community College, in Queens Avenue -- a venue which can hold up to 270 people -- on Thursday, February 26.
Bicester's MP Tony Baldry, who organised the meeting, said: "Cherwell District Council is waiting for leave to appeal the Government's decision, and people are frustrated while that goes through."
"With the threat of an accommodation centre hanging over people the best way forward is the judicial review, but we also need to maintain political pressure."
He said Mr Davis would be speaking on alternative asylum policy.
The event is free but tickets must be booked in advance. For details call 01869 322769.
