The padre of an independent Wantage school has died suddenly, aged 65.
The Rev Roger Clayton-Jones, who joined St Mary's School in Newbury Street 11 years ago, died on Friday at Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital after a heart attack.
The Rev Clayton-Jones, of Newbury Street, Wantage, was a well-known members of the community.
Chris Bullmore, development director at St Mary's School, said he had acted as a father and grandfather to hundreds of girls who attended the school.
Mr Bullmore said the school and Mr Clayton- Jones's wife Joanna and their children Olivia, Justin and Giles, had been inundated with hundreds of messages from well-wishers.
Two funeral services -- one at Wantage Parish Church, Church Street, and the other at St Mary's School chapel -- will take place simultaneously from noon on Monday to cater for the large number of mourners.
Mr Bullmore said: "Roger was much-loved and respected by all who knew him."
