Oxford & District Billiards League: Second division Headington Conservative Club toppled Division 1 leaders Witney 2-1 in the big shock of the day as the Oxford League season resumed after Christmas.

Veteran Terry Walsh (+90) gave Headington a superb start, beating Steve Mill (+60) 150-139.
John Williams (+80) then made it 2-0 by ending the unbeaten run of Gavin Wright (+60), winning 150-77 with breaks of 31 and 26.
Terry Cook (+30) averted the whitewash as he beat Tony Palmer (+100) 200-194.
All the other matches ended in 3-0 wins. Oracle came away from Thame B triumphant. Ted Milsom (+70) led the way with a 150-105 victory over Tom Fletcher (+70).
Richard Connerty (+80), returning to billiards after four years, saw off Peter Hawkes (+110) 150-101. Jack Woods then beat Arthur Jones (+100) 150-125 to take Oracle joint top.
Newtrim crashed 3-0 at New Club to stay bottom. Andy Moss (+90) began with a 200-175 victory over Bob Chivers (-40), then Justin Shepherd (+60) continued his fine form with a 200-191 victory over Simon Aries (-60).
Eighty-year-old George Washington (+110) saw off Paul Robinson (scratch) 200-161 to wrap up New Club's magnificent victory.
Morris Motors thrashed struggling Eynsham. Doug Baker (+50) beat Mick McCluskey (+90) 150-120 then George Williams (+30) saw off Ken Leach (+90) 200-128.
Bob Hayward (+80) completed the whitewash with a 150-112 victory over Geoff Watson (+90).
CCC A beat reigning champions Riley 3-0 at home with Keith Pearce (+70) beating Roger Coenen (+70) 150-95.
Dick Hashman (-20) saw off Keith Maskens (+60) 200-123, and Malcolm Grieveson (+110) beat Alan Copelin (+80) 150-144.
