Oxford City junior Darrell Bellinger continued his excellent form with a super run at the Reebok Cross Challenge, held in the grounds of Stormont Castle, Belfast.
Darrell BellingerCompeting in the under 20 event, Bellinger finished second behind Jamie McCarthy in a time of 19mins 29secs on the 5km course.
However, with McCarthy hailing from the Republic of Ireland, Bellinger's second place overall secured first place in the Reebok Challenge, which is an event open to UK-based athletes only.
THERE was also plenty of success for City's youngsters at the latest round of the Chiltern Cross Country League.
Pride of place went to Danielle Anderson, who won the under 11 girls' race in 5mins 23secs.
She finished just inches ahead of teammate Melissa Hawtin, making her debut for Oxford City after moving from Exel-Gosford.
The under 11 girls' team now stand just two points behind Milton Keynes with one round to go.
In ther under 13 girls' race, Bea Swords finished seventh, while Hayley Luke was 15th in the under 15 race.
Radley youngster Alex Jones finished 15th in the under 13 boys' race, crossing the line in 10.38, while City's Aaron Simpson was 19th in 10.45.
In the under 15 boys' race, James Bird and Ian Castle finished ninth and 34th respectively, while Phillip Castle was 21st in the under 17 boys' race.
City's veterans were also on song. Gwyneth Hueter finished third in the LV45 category, while the men's veterans team remain in third place overall, with Aylesbury and Milton Keynes just ahead.
Richard Grant was the first Vet 50 home and in 41st overall, while Brian Green finished 43rd, Roy Treadwell 52nd and Trevor Dixon 61st.
