Oxford City continued their impressive away form with a third successive win on their travels - 1-0 at Uxbridge.

City's seventh away win of the campaign takes them four places up the table.

The visitors opened strongly with Sam Shepherd driving wide from 25 yards after good work by Neil Crosby

For the home side, Gavin Bamford powered in a shot that City keeper Steve Benbow pushed away.

Nick Rundell then tried to put in the rebound, but covering defender Robin Antonowicz cleared the danger.

There was little to choose between the two sides in the first period, but immediately after the break, Benbow's indecision nearly cost Citty dear with a poor clearance.

Then it was Uxbridge's turn to escape as their keeper and crossbar came to their rescue.

City took the lead in the 53rd minute, when following another hectic goalmouth mele, Shepherd netted with a powerfully driven shot.

Uxbridge had a couple of chances to get back in the game as Lee Tunnel blazed over and former Thame player Mick Swaysland's weak effort was easily collected by Benbow.

The referee added nine minutes of injury time, but it was not enough to deny City a well-deserved win.
