Bicester MP Tony Baldry and two trade union officials met Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon to discuss the future of the huge military storage centre at Bicester.
Employees have been worried by the prospect of job losses, as the Government wants to save about £34m.
The unions want an in-house bid to run centres treated the same as private sector operators.
Mr Baldry was accompanied by Richard Kelsall, secretary of the Oxfordshire branch of the Public and Commercial Services Union, and Les Sibley, of the Transport and General Workers' Union.
After the meeting with Mr Hoon on January 14, Mr Baldry said: "The Defence Secretary gave firm assurances that a fair hearing will be given to an in-house bid from employees at MoD Bicester."
He said the Secretary of State was adamant no decision had yet been made to privatise the depot.
