Attempts to stop vandalism and stone-throwing against buses on an Oxford estate are to be thrashed out at a public meeting in the town hall.
The Barton estate and London Road, Headington, have been blighted by a spate of attacks in which missiles have been hurled at buses.
Drivers have now threatened to withdraw their services in the interest of their own safety and that of their passengers.
The crisis meeting on January 15 has been called by Barton city councillor Mick McAndrews, who believes that whatever limited funding is available should be spent providing youth workers or leisure activities to occupy local teenagers.
Representatives of bus operators, Oxford Stagecoach, the Oxford Bus Company, Thames Valley Police and city councillors responsible for trying to curb antisocial behaviour have agreed to attend.
Mr McAndrews said: "I am deeply concerned that if these attacks continue it will be only a matter of time until a serious accident occurs, resulting in the loss of life."
