Readers in Bicester will have more time to borrow and return books thanks to extra money for the county council's library service.
For the first time in several years the town's library in Old Place Yard will be open six days a week from February 2.
The new hours will be -- Monday 1pm to 8pm; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9.30am to 7pm; Friday 9.30am to 5pm; and Saturday 9am to 4.30pm.
The library will be open on Tuesdays for the first time in five years and on other days there will be longer opening hours. Library manager Joan Full said: "We have welcomed the extra funding into the county library service as it has enabled us to open on Tuesdays again.
"Five to six years ago the library was open on Tuesday mornings but was then shut all day to save money. The longer opening hours throughout the week means we have been able to adjust our times in line with requests from borrowers."
Mrs Full said the library would be open on four weekday evenings for later than before. Bicester South county councillor Charles Shouler explained that the county council was allocating more money in its forthcoming budget to allow most libraries in Oxfordshire to be open longer.
