South Oxfordshire MP Boris Johnson opened a new computer suite in what he calls Silicon Glen.
He visited and formally opened the upgraded suite at Chinnor Community Education Centre.
In his speech he called Chinnor Silicon Glen -- as opposed to America's Silicon Valley -- because it is attracting so many new students, bucking the countywide trend of falling numbers. He toured the centre talking to learners and staff and said he was impressed by the computer suite's equipment and tutors.
Centre head Alison Barrow-Williams said: "Because the suite is small, catering for a maximum of six learners, there is plenty of individual attention."
The centre is run by Oxfordshire County Council's Adult and Community Learning Service.
