Residents who feel a youth shelter near their homes will devalue their property have asked for it to go somewhere else.
They asked Thame Town Council not to put it on Queen Elizabeth Circle, close to their Lea Park Estate homes.
Dr Tyrell Gillman, speaking for Lea Park residents, told the town council's culture, leisure and recreation committee: "We want to quietly enjoy our properties."
Mayor David Laver said the public would be fully consulted over the issue.
