MEDLEY is still producing some exceptional chub for specimen anglers prepared to put in the time and effort.
Fred Healey, from Sussex, caught a huge chub weighing in at 7lb 7oz, a new personal best, plus others of 4.4.0, 5.8.0 and 5.11.0. All took boilies hair-rigged to a size 6 hook.
Coventry big-fish expert Phil Smith also used boilies, but fished with a PVA bag filled with pellet to tempt two chub of 6.10.0 and 6.8.0.
DARREN Lilley, from Wiltshire, had recorded his third 30lb carp from Orchid Lake at Dorchester.
The carp weighed in at 30.2.0 and was fooled by a Active-8 boilie presented over broken boilie and pellets.
Meanwhile, over at Richworth Linear's Hardwick Lake, near Stanton Harcourt, Ben O'Connor, from Surrey, landed a nice mirror weighing 25.9.0 on a pop-up connected to a PVA bag filled with pellet.
