THE annual Oxford Amnesty Lectures begin on Wednesday.
The theme of this year's series of debates is asylum and immigration.
Speakers include Slavoj Zizek, philospher and former presidential candidate in Slovenia. Caryl Phillips, novelist and playwright, and Jacqueline Rose, the English professor whose Channel 4 film Dangerous Liaison, examined America's relationship with Israel, will also speak.
All lectures will be held in the Sheldonian Theatre, Broad Street, at 5.30pm. To book tickets, call 01865 305305.
A series of films about asylum and migration will be screened every Sunday at the Pheonix Picture House in Walton Street, to coincide with the event.
