Abingdon Tn 5,
Kingsbury Tn 5
Abingdon Town came from 2-0 down to share the Ryman League Division 2 points in an amazing ten-goal bonanza against Kingsbury at Culham Road on Saturday.
The Middlesex outfit looked sharpest out of the blocks as the home side, playing with Luke Beauchamp and Danny Clarke up front, lacked cohesion in the opening exchanges.
The first goal did not arrive until the 28th minute when Kevin Jones drove past Gordon past Hearmon to put Kingsbury ahead.
Two minutes later it was 2-0 when Dave Butler slotted home at the far post.
On 34 minutes, Danny Clarke got to the byeline before crossing for Beauchamp to slide home and reduce the arrears.
Then, just before half-time, Abingdon were level when Beauchamp was sent clear, only to be brought down by visitors' keeper Lee Clark, who was lucky to receive just a yellow card. Chris Johnson stepped up to blast home the spot-kick.
Abingdon came out with all guns blazing at the start of the second half, but it was the visitors who regained the lead on the hour, Butler shooting home his second after a goalmouth scramble.
Abingdon responded again on 72 minutes, a great run by substitute Mark Scanes seeing him cross for Clarke to make it 3-3.
Six minutes later, Abingdon took the lead for the first time when Beauchamp was played in and slammed the ball home from ten yards.
The goals kept on coming, Butler completing his hat-trick for Kingsbury when he headed home an 84th-minute corner.
Two minutes later there were wild celebrations as Abingdon regained the lead at 5-4 when Clarke was sent clear and slipped the ball past the keeper.
It looked a sure-fire winner, but the visitors had other ideas and in the 87th minute, Chris Connolly's looping header tied it up again.
Even then, Abingdon could have snatched it right on time when Johnson's stinging shot was deflected away by the keeper's knee.
