An elderly woman who was involved in a collision with a bus in Oxford on the morning of Monday, January 26, is in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
The 70-year-old woman, who has not been named, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with serious head injuries following the accident which happened shortly before 9.55am as she was crossing the road near the junction with Windmill Road and London Road.
The bus was an Oxford Bus Company No2 service travelling from Barton to Kidlington.
The road was closed until 1.43pm and traffic was diverted while police and bus company managers investigated.
A spokesman for the Oxford Bus Company said the driver was extremely shaken by the incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the collision to call 0845 8505 505.
