Children at an Oxfordshire playscheme are getting stuck into new toys after the club won a £1,000 cash award from Candis women's magazine.
Wasps -- the Witney After School Play Scheme -- will buy large beanbags, soft toys and a parachute toy that can be used by able and special needs youngsters in the group.
Wasps, which runs at Witney Community Primary School's site in Hailey Road, has been operating for seven years and has more than 50 children on its books.
Candis reader Lorraine Martin, of Hoyle Close, Witney, nominated Wasps for the magazine's monthly community award.
She said: "Having been involved with Wasps for several years, I know the benefit to many parents and children that it provides. The club works very well but right now some of the equipment is beginning to show its age and it does need replacing."
Candis editor Jenny Campbell said: "A little financial help can make a world of difference."
