EYNSHAM took over at the top of the Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division on goal difference thanks to a 2-0 victory at Worcester College Old Boys & Bletchingdon.
Playing with the wind in the first half, Eynsham, who still have a game in hand over second-placed Kidlington, Old Boys failed to take full advantage of the elements, finding the back of the net only once, through Matthew Phillips.
It followed a free kick from Steve Green, which rattled the crossbar allowing Phillips to score.
After the break, Eynsham resisted an Old Boys' barrage, before Green's long-range effort sealed the win.
In Division 1, BCS Bardwell fought back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with bottom-of-the-table Brill.
An upset looked on the cards when Brill went ahead, before Bardwell, who hit the woodwork several times, equalised through Peter Allison.
