Boreham Wood 1, Oxford City 0: Oxford City's run of three successive victories came to an end against the Ryman League Division 1 North form side last night.
But they can count themselves unlucky not to have earned a point with striker Danny Wise missing a great chance in the dying minutes.
Chances came early at both ends with the best of them falling to the home side's Sammy Winston.
At the other end, Robert Cruse went close from Matty Whitehead's excellent crossfield pass.
City keeper Steve Benbow then made an excellent save from Joe Baker.
On 39 minutes, Boreham went ahead through Winston.
After the break, Chris Harper went close, before City almost let in Nick Grime for Boreham's second.
Then came Wise's chance to rescue a point, but he shot wide. Andy Ballard's long pass then set up Wise for the equaliser but he fired wide.
Oxford C: Benbow, Cruse, Smillie, Antonowicz, Brown, Shepherd, Whitehead (Ferreira 53), Lewis (Champelovier 75), Prescott (Wise 64), Harper, Ballard. Sub not used: Dark.
Referee: Mr S. Fay (Luton).
