Thame United have had a massive boost ahead of tomorrow's visit of Enfield with skipper James Saulsbury rejecting a move to local Ryman League Division 1 North rivals Oxford City.
Player-manager Mark West said: "It's great news, he is vital to us. We don't have much money, but we have a brilliant team spirit here.
"It's been a good week, because Tony Joyce (an Aylesbury target) has also decided to stay."
City boss Andy Sinnott, who gave Saulsbury his debut when he was boss at Thame, said: "They aren't having the best of times. He didn't feel, with the responsibility of being captain, it would be a good move, politically.
"It's disappointing, but we will work together again."
Thame, who are still without the injured Justin Merritt (knee), Danny Keen (ankle), Kevin Franklin (broken leg) and Jon Gardner (foot), welcome back the fit-again Mark Jones and Mark Avery from suspen- sion.
"Although we beat them 5-0 at their place, they are doing well away," West added. "But we have no excuses - we have to win."
Ex-Northampton Town midfielder Neil Champel- ovier, a substitute in City's 1-0 defeat at Boreham Wood on Tuesday, makes his full debut at East Thurrock.
City have Neil Crosby back from suspension, as they seek their eighth away victory.
Centre back Lewis Craker has joined Hellenic Premier side Brackley Town on loan.
