Three men wanted by Oxford police in connection with violence at a football match have been identified after their faces appeared on the front page of the Oxford Mail.
Bottles and missiles from a building site were hurled at police and officers were spat at during the Oxford United versus Reading game at the Kassam Stadium on September 24 last year.
Police tracked down eight of 13 troublemakers and appealed for help to catch the remaining five in Thursday's Oxford Mail.
The coverage resulted in three names being passed to officers -- including one suspect identified following a call from an Oxford Mail reader.
Anyone convicted of football-related disorder faces a ban from domestic and international games of three years.
Six people were arrested on the day of the Carling Cup clash between the rival Thames Valley clubs.
Two were convicted of threatening behaviour and banned from international matches for three years.
Four await trial.
Police were left searching for seven more but were able to identify two after a detailed investigation.
