King's Lynn 4, Banbury Utd 1: Banbury United were well beaten by a strong King's Lynn outfit who stormed to the top of the Dr Martens Eastern Division on Saturday.
Backed by a 700-plus crowd, King's Lynn went on the attack almost immediately, with Banbury keeper Simon Tricker making a brilliant reflex save on three minutes.
Carl Holmes put Lynn one up on 17 minutes and they went further in front on the half-hour through Jack Defty's bullet header.
Banbury pulled a goal back in the 41st minute, Jason Allen picking out George Redknap, who fired home from close range for his 15th goal of the season.
Lynn hit back quickly and Tricker made another great save tipping the ball on to the crossbar and over for a corner, only for the resulting flag-kick to go straight over his head into the net for King's Lynn third goal of the contest.
Although Banbury worked hard in the second half, it was no surprise when Kings Lynn added their fourth in the 69th minute through Holmes.
