Thame Utd 8, Enfield 0: Alex Stewart bagged a brace as Thame United got back to winning ways in style with a demolition of Ryman League Division 1 North strugglers Enfield.
Mark West's side, who earlier in the season thrashed the same opponents 5-0 away, took the lead after only five minutes through defender Andy Williams, who headed home Mark Jones's corner.
And 11 minutes later, Thame bagged a second through Alex Stewart following a blunder by the Enfield keeper Michael Collier.
On 31 minutes, the game was effectively over for Enfield, when John Mitchell netted No 3 with a neat header after Collier had pushed away Williams's header following another excellent corner from Jones.
Skipper James Saulsbury, who last week rejected a move to local rivals Oxford City, put the finishing touch to a superb three-man move, which he himself had started for Thame's fourth.
Saulsbury then turned provider, setting up Mark Avery for No 5, and just before half-time, Enfield's misery increased when Thame scored their sixth through Stewart, who headed home another Jones cross, following a brave tackle from Williams.
After the break, Thame carried on where they left off, with a delightful chip from midfielder Nando Perna finding the net for their seventh of the game after good work from Saulsbury and Avery.
Substitute Tom Goffe completed the rout with No 8 for Thame's first win of 2004.
Thame Utd: Smith, Mills, Joyce (West 80), Saulsbury, Avery, Perna, Mitchell, Stewart (Goffe 74), Jones (Freeman 67), Hocking. Sub not used: Chowns.
