Henley MP and Spectator editor Boris Johnson was impressed with what he saw during a visit to Victim Support Oxfordshire.
Mr Johnson, who has been shortlisted in the British Press Awards as columnist of the year for his Daily Telegraph column, chatted to staff and volunteers at the Victim Support base in The Slade, Oxford.
He said: "I have met some remarkable volunteers who are giving up their time to provide an invaluable service for victims of crime.
"I was shocked to discover there are 10,000 victims of crime per year in Oxfordshire and people should be aware this is a charity well worth supporting."
