More than 250 staff and Students at Faringdon Community College yesterday (February 9) bid farewell to teenager Jenny Koester, 14, who died after a hit-and-run accident on her way home from school.
Students at Faringdon Community College mourn Jenny
The school held a memorial service for Jenny who was struck by two vehicles on the A417 Wantage to Faringdon road on January 16, after getting off a school bus.
During the service, headteacher David Wilson told staff, pupils and Jenny's parents: "Her warm personality was infectious, which is why she had so many friends and was so well liked by her teachers."
Her year tutor, Linda Sutton, said she was a chatty and popular member of her year group.
Students Laura Stephenson and Marion Pernot, both 15, sang a song in her memory based on P.Diddy's I'll be Missing You. Later the senior choir sang Michael Jackson's You are Not Alone.
Police are still making inquiries about the incident, which involved a stolen blue Honda Civic later dumped in Stanford in the Vale.
