National League 1: Henley Hawks picked up a vital point in their battle against relegation by holding fellow strugglers Wakefield to a 13-13 draw away from home.
However, it could have been even better for Hawks, who led 10-3 at half-time and should have been further ahead having enjoyed the advantage of a strong breeze and the slope for the first 40 minutes.
After the break, Henley struggled in the lineouts and set scrums, although their defence was excellent throughout.
Time and again Tom Hayman in the back row had to scramble the ball away under extreme pressure.
Fly half Barry Reeves scored all Hawks' points, with a try, conversion and two penalties.
The try came when he accelerated through a gap to touch down under the posts after hooker Jonny Barrett had charged down a clearance kick.
Wakefield's Warren Spragg landed a penalty in each half and also converted their try by Jon Skurr.
The home side had their chance to snatch victory in the closing stages.
Spragg missed two kicks from in front of the posts, one shaving an upright, while Hawks also charged down his attempt at a drop goal in the dying minutes .
