English League: Oxford Hawks' long wait for their first win of the season in English League Division 2 is over.
The basement boys, who had lost 11 of their previous 12 games, twice came from behind to finally open their account with a 4-2 win over fellow strugglers Hounslow & Ealing at Banbury Road North.
With Hawks bottom and Hounslow three points above them, it was a must-win game for both sides.
In a nervy opening, Hawks had a golden opportunity to open the scoring when they were awarded a penalty stroke after Tim Martin was cynically fouled en route to goal. But Andy Page missed.
And they were made to pay when Hounslow took the lead in the fifth minute through Ben Blake, who forced home a rebound after Phil Hargreaves had saved the initial effort.
Hawks were level ten minutes later, Scott Beach scoring with a drag flick from a short corner.
But Hawks found themselves trailing again when Damian Paterson scored for the visitors.
In the second half, it was one-way traffic with Hawks playing with more commitment and desire.
Russell Gear scored a spectacular equaliser, turning with his back to goal to rifle a shot past the goalkeeper.
And they went ahead five minutes later through Tim Newton, who finished off a cross from Tim Martin.
Hawks' victory was sealed in the 70th minute when a shot rebounded to Page, and he fired the ball into the net.
