Tony Lock led home the Witney Roadrunners contingent at the Wokingham Half Marathon on Sunday as the west Oxfordshire club lifted their second successive team title of 2004.

Lock finished fifth in a huge field of more than 2,000 in a time of 1hr 13mins 52secs.

Mike Baillie clocked 1.15.48 and Laz Boden set a personal best over the distance of 1.19.52 as Witney continued their fine start to the road race season.

Both the ladies' and men's Vet 40 teams finished second, while Nicola Gomm, who won the Oxford Mail Cross Country League Vet 35 title, clocked a best of 1.24.51.

Laz Boden also set a personal best, crossing the line in 1.19.52.

Alchester's Lawrie Stratford competed in his 100th half marathon, and clocked 1.54.25 - his best time over the distance for many months.

His team was led home by Steve Howard, who recorded a best time of 1.34.13.

Steve's wife, Hazel, also set a new best time of 1.46.52 in the women's race.

Witney Roadrunner Lewis Warren lowered the under 15 60m club record at the Midland Counties Indoor Open. He clocked 7.81secs, and continued his form into the 200m, recording 25.27.
