Evenlode stayed in the hunt for the title by edging out local rivals Abingdon B in the latest round of matches in Division 2 of the Five Disciplines League.
In a real cliff-hanger, Evenlode won 129-127 thanks to the 20 points gained by Lee Ackrell and Rob Prior in losing the men's doubles.
The women's singles took 70 minutes to complete, Judy Bendall taking the first game 15-13, but young Hannah Wilkinson fighting back to win the second 15-3.
Oxon Schools stayed top with a maximum victory over Abingdon C, while hosts Berinsfield beat an understrength Redefield B 122-82 to stay in second.
With just two rounds to play, Oxon Schools (855 points) sit out next time, while second-placed Berinsfield (794) are spectators in the final round.
This leaves third-placed Evenlode (768) with a great chance of pipping them both for the title.

OXFORD Brookes lost 5-4 to Windrush and then beat Park B 6-3 in Mixed Division 3 of the Oxford & District League.
Pete Frobisher and Joy Hann won six out of six for Brookes.
