Thame United player-manager Mark West has called on his players for a positive response after their 5-0 midweek drubbing by Ryman League Division 1 North form side Berkhamsted when they travel to struggling Great Wakering Rovers tomorrow.
West, whose side thrashed Enfield 8-0 on Saturday, said it was vital his team started to climb into the top half of the table.
"Berkhamsted weren't a bad side, but we were poor," said the manager. "I didn't need to say anything to the players, they know they let themselves down.
"The trouble is my players aren't playing the way I want them to. If they do what I say and it goes wrong, then it's down to me, but they have to start listening to me. If they don't do that, then we wil have problems.
"We are quite a young side and because of that we sometimes don't know when to defend. We attack too much, which means we leave ourselves vulnerable at the back."
Thame will again be without midfielder Justin Merritt (knee) and Kevin Franklin (broken leg), while strikers Danny Keen (knee) and Jon Gardner (foot) are already out for the season.
West added: "We've now got to go to Great Wakering and pull something out of the bag."
Abingdon Town have received a boost by signing midfielder Darren Clare from Oxford City.
He goes straight into the squad for their home game with Hertford Town in Division 2.
Earlier in the season, Town won 3-0 at Hertford and boss Paul Berry said: "They are the leaders and it would be nice to beat them again."
Banbury United are likely to be without their ex-Oxford United defender Les Robinson (knee injury) for their battle with struggling Hastings - their first of three successive home games.
Player-boss Kevin Brock, whose side have slipped to ninth, said: "We will be looking to win all those games to keep us in touch with Bashley and Burgess Hill."
Thame Utd (v Great Wakering Rvrs, away): from Smith, Mills, Joyce, Saulsbury, Williams, Avery, Perna, Mitchell, Stewart, Death, Jones, Goffe, Hocking, Freeman, West, Chowns.
