An Oxford curry chef can call himself the world's third best Indian cook.
Anil Rozario, 35, of the Aziz Indian restaurant in Cowley Road, Oxford, beat thousands of chefs from around the world to gain third place in the International Indian Chef of the Year competition.
He said: "I enjoyed the competition and am very happy to have won third place."
Mr Rozario was one of six cooks in the final at Queen Margaret University College, in Edinburgh, on Friday, February 13.
The contestants had to cook their ideal four-course meal for a group of judges headed by Lord Fraser of Carmyllie.
Kapil Kaushik, of Edinburgh restaurant Oloroso, came first. Jabeen Fatema, of the Royal International Hotel of Bangladesh, gained second place.
Mr Rozario was presented with his diploma at the Curry Ball at Balmoral Hotel.
