Ardley Utd 0, Oxford C 3: City comfortably reached the Oxfordshire Senior Cup semi-final as their class told away to Hellenic Division 1 side Ardley on Saturday.

The home side were forced to defend for most of the game and when they did go forward, they rarely threatened City's goal.

The visitors should have taken the lead in the first minute. Matty Whitehead put Andy Prescott clear, but he fired his effort wide.

City squandered other chances until three minutes before the break when Danny Wise crossed to Prescott who made no mistake.

Six minutes into the second half, it was 2-0 when Robert Cruse's free-kick was glanced home by Robin Antonowicz.

Ardley battled hard, but could not make any impression on the City defence, although Charlie Bough did have a chance to reduce the deficit, only to screw his shot wide.

The victory was sealed on 71 minutes when Wise went on a run through the home defence and although keeper Martin Woodward took the pace off the shot, it rolled agonisingly over the line.
