South West Division 1: Oxford Harlequins blitzed Barnstaple 66-6 with a scintillating display of open rugby which produced nine tries at Horspath Road.
Fly half Chris Penney was the star of the show with a personal tally of 26 points in an excellent all-round personal performance.
Quins took the lead in the fifth minute when Penney sent winger Martin Nutt over under the posts for a superb try which Penney converted.
Barnstaple reduced the arrears with a penalty, but Quins stormed further ahead as full back Dave Boreham came into the line to score their second try, converted by Penney.
Penney dummied his way over for a brilliant individual try under the posts which he converted, and further tries followed from Andy Noyce and Shaun Baxter.
Penney converted both and slotted a penalty to make it 38-3 at half-time.
Quins made three changes for the second half, and after Barnstaple had landed another penalty, the home side pressed home their advantage with some superb play as half backs Anthony Cope and Penney called the tune.
Further tries came from Boreham (2), Nutt and Baxter, all converted by Penney.
Chinnor triumphed 37-31 in a remarkable game at Cleveden which was dominated by the referee, who awarded no fewer than three penalty tries and dished out four yellow cards, two each side.
The visitors trailed 17-14 at the break, their points coming from two penalty tries, and went further behind in the second half, before clinching the victory with two late James Hewitt penalties.
