Police sergeant Kevin Andrew Warner has died aged 43, after suffering from cancer.
Sgt Warner, who lived in Bicester, served mainly in Aylesbury and at the Kidlington headquarters of Thames Valley Police.
He joined the Hertfordshire police as a cadet in 1976 and in 1979 he became a constable.
When he transferred to Thames Valley Police in 1987, he served at Cowley, Oxford, until April, 1991.
In 1990, he was promoted and the following year he was posted to Aylesbury. A year later he joined the Support Group.
In 1995, he transferred to the control rooms department at Aylesbury.
By late 1998 his health was deteriorating and in February, 1999, he was diagnosed with cancer. Following operations and chemotherapy, he returned to work in November 1999.
Sgt Warner was married and had two sons.
