Residents in a Wallingford street are protesting about a controversial kebab van moving into their street.
They were kept awake until 1am on Tuesday by people shouting and swearing around the van and by the noise of its generator.
Wallingford Town Council offices was inundated with complaints and councillors have been quizzed over what was happening.
The owners of the van, which up to now has been parked in St Albans car park, have asked South Oxfordshire District Council for planning permission to move to Wood Street and trade on the cattle market car park until 1am.
Even though the application may not be considered by the planning committee until the end of March, the van moved in on Monday evening. Wood Street residents, told about the plans, say they are now even more ready to oppose the kebab van being there.
And they have the backing of town council member Theresa Jordan who lives nearby. She described the placing of the van as totally unacceptable.
The town council wanted the kebab van removed completely from the town but South Oxfordshire District Council gave it permission to use part of the car park.
That site will be swallowed up in the Waitrose supermarket development later this year.
Kebab van owners Adil Fatih Guncu and Seydi Caner, from Wantage, were not available for comment on the plan they have lodged with South Oxfordshire District Council.
