Youth triumphed over experience in the eagerly-awaited battle between father and son Chris and Glenn Allen in the English Indoor Bowling Association area singles final at Sandy Lane.
In the end, it turned into a one-sided affair as 28-year-old Glenn went ahead early on and bowled superbly to run out a 21-10 winner.
It means he is now 4-1 up on his 57-year-old dad in head-to-head meetings in major finals.
Chris said: "He was too good for me on the night and the result was never really in doubt. He kept pulling out the better bowl and deserved to win.
"It was a tough two-and-a-half-hour battle, but I'm delighted for Glenn. It's more beneficial for him to be in the finals as an England prospect, while I'm getting to the end of my career.
"Anyway, I had to let him win, or the wife would have been on to me!"
So Glenn, from the Oxford and District club, now goes through to represent Area 15 in the national finals at Melton Mowbray on March 27.
The Allens will also be helping to fly the flag for Oxon and Bucks in the fours after they won a thrilling battle against Carterton in the area final in front of a packed house at City and County.
They edged home 20-19 after an extra end thanks to skip Glenn Allen, whose brilliant final wood clinched the victory.
There was double consolation for Carterton, however, in the pairs and triples.
Sammy Timms and Rob Clanfield pipped Darren Sharpe and Calvin Carpenter 19-18 at Oxford City & County to take the pairs crown, while Baden Sparkes, Timms and Dave Abbott saw off the Slade's Don Savage, Paul Seymour and John McAndrew 17-8 to capture the triples.
