Kidlington Forum's girls opened the third round of matches in the National Junior League at the Cippenham Club, Slough, with an incredible 6-3 victory against Ellenborough.
With Tina Tian unable to play due to a late call-up for an interview at London University, Forum faced opponents, to whom they had lost 6-3 in the first round of matches.
But the two remaining girls, Laurel Christer and Laura Gubbins, played superbly to win all six of their sets - although half of them were decided on a two-point lead in the fifth. The three other sets were conceded.
Tian showed her commitment to the cause by catching a train from London to Slough in order to be available for the two remaining matches.
But it proved all in vain as the session had to be abandoned due to a power failure before the second match started.
The two outstanding matches will be held next month.
In the National Junior Boys' League, Kidlington Forum defeated Chesham High School A 6-3 in their first outing in Division 3 at Cippenham.
Adam Wells reeled off three excellent wins, Lewis Hooper bagged a brace and Peter Norton provided a single success.
They were then leading 3-0 against Bournemouth in their second match when the lights failed. This tie will be replayed next month.
