Abingdon Tn 3, Flackwell Heath 1: A hat-trick from former Oxford United winger Joey Beauchamp earned Abingdon three important Ryman Division 2 points at Culham Road on Saturday.
The visitors, who had won the two previous meetings between the sides this season, were undone by a Beauchamp treble comprising a diving header followed by right and left-foot finishes.
The first came after 23 minutes when Danny Clarke whipped in a cross and Beauchamp dived to head home. Keeper Jamie Jackson got a hand to the ball, but could not prevent it finding ther back of the net.
However, the Town defence then gifted the opposition a goal on the stroke of half-time. Leigh Mason was first to react when keeper Gordon Hearmon spilled a speculative cross, stabbing the ball home from close range.
The visitors were reduced to ten men when Miles Norman was shown the red card for retaliating against Chris Johnson following a robust tackle and they were soon made to pay.
Town regained the lead after 52 minutes when Beauchamp was put clean through. Although Jackson parried his first shot, Beauchamp smacked the rebound into the corner of the net.
Beauchamp completed his hat-trick on 87 minutes with another breakaway goal.
Clean through with a one-on-one against Jackson, he coolly slotted home with his trusty left foot.
