North Berks League: Third division Appleton sent high-flying Division 1 outfit Ardington & Lockinge crashing out of the North Berks Cup with a shock 5-2 victory in the quarter-finals.

Gary Wilson and Paul Wilson did the damage with doubles, while Will Jefferies completed their tally. Paul Huzzey and Matt Searis replied for Ardington.

Division 2 promotion hopefuls Sutton Courtenay came from behind to see off first division Saxton Rovers 2-1.

Michael Beale gave Saxton a first-half lead, only for Simon Russell to head the equaliser early in the second half.

Dave Carter sent Sutton into semi-finals with a shot off a post ten minutes from time.

Blewbury are through after a 2-1 win against Harwell International.

Johnny Pearce and Ben Sutton were on target.

In Division 1, Long Wittenham and Drayton battled to a 1-1 draw.

Tim Barton netted for Wittenham with Dave Miles hitting Drayton's reply.

Grove Rangers missed out on the chance to go top of Division 2 after losing 3-2 to Steventon.

Mark Reynolds was a two-goal hero for Steventon with Shane Preece-Tripp also netting. Stuart Eadie grabbed both Grove goals.

Chris and Andy Allum hit hat-tricks and former Wim- bledon player Gary Elkins bagged a brace as Wallingford Res thrashed Lambourn Res 9-0.

New signing Christian Orr also netted.

Ben Harrison and Garry Bradbury notched trebles as Buckland took over at the top of Division 3 with a 7-1 win over Radley.

Hagbourne United beat Hanney United 7-1, with Nick Guiry and Andy Patten scoring hat-tricks.

Eddie Yarker grabbed a treble as Didcot Casuals maintained their lead at the top of Division 4 with a 3-1 success against Drayton Res.

A late strike from Steve Harrhy clinched a 3-2 extra-time win for Benson Res at Harwell International Res in the League Cup semi- finals.

Ryan Stuart and Adam Young were also on target for Benson, with Bob Saunders and Lee Absolom netting for Harwell.

Now Benson meet Warborough Res after they saw off Radley Res 5-1.

Alan Wellman (2), Marcus Charman, Steve Hendy and Matthew Clarke netted, with Shane Matthews replying.
