Letcombe A's plight at the bottom of Division 1 of the Didcot & District League worsened as they suffered two 6-4 defeats.

The first was at the hands of Rutherford Appleton Laboratory A, for whom Ian Heskins won three.

The second loss came against Crown, although it was Letcombe's Richard Taylor who gained a maximum on this occasion.

RAL B's relegation fears increased as Didcot Power Station A beat them 9-1, with Eddie Herrity and Phil Haycock both unbeaten.

The other team in trouble, Drayton A, also lost 9-1, Andy Misseldine and Nick Pattman bagging maximums for opponents Abingdon B.

In Division 2, Bill Hanks played a captain's part as Sutton C closed on leaders Abingdon C by beating them 6-4. Hanks won three and combined with Peter Wiblin to take the decisive doubles.

Abingdon D stay third as David Mottershead recorded maximums in two victories - 8-2 against Sutton E and 6-4 over DPS C.

Letcombe B remain bottom after losing 7-3 to fellow strugglers RAL C, despite a Glyn Callard maximum.

In mid-table, Drayton B beat Sutton D 8-2, with Steve Gardner and Andy Cuddon unbeaten.

Tom Saunders recorded two maximums for lowly Letcombe C.

His first was in vain against promotion hopefuls Sutton F, who won 7-3, but the second earned a draw against Drayton D who were denied victory by losing a five-game doubles.

Tim Pett also contributed a maximum in vain as bottom team RAL D went down 7-3 to DPS E.

Moreton B took over the lead of Division 4 from clubmates Moreton C as they saw off the DPS F youngsters 8-2, Richard Smith bagging a maximum and winning the doubles with Mike Dawes.

Robert Saunders and Brigit Muller, both unbeaten, led Abingdon G's surge towards the top with an 8-2 victory over Wallingford.
