Terry Morrisey has dismissed claims that he was sacked by Premier Division leaders Didcot Town.

Morrisey, 29, left his home-town club under a cloud three weeks ago, with boss Pete Foley saying he had been booted out for "continued breaches of club discipline".

But Morrisey, who this week joined runaway Division 1 East leaders Wantage Town, launched a broadside at Didcot - and at Foley in particular.

The former Oxford City, Witney Town and Thame United defender said: "I couldn't believe what I was reading when Pete said I had been sacked.

"I left the club of my own accord, because I wasn't enjoying my football. I felt pushed out by Pete, and it's no secret that I didn't get on well with him.

"I didn't agree with the way he ran the team, and I just wanted to get out. You could say it was a clash of personalities."

Foley declined to comment.
