Abingdon Tn 1, Dorking 2: Abingdon were unlucky not to take a point from Ryman Division 2 leaders Dorking in a game punctuated by snow showers at Culham Road on Saturday.
Town, who were without striker Luke Beauchamp, then saw his replacement Mark Scanes hobble off injured.
New signing from Oxford City, Simon Abercrombie, made his debut in central defence, but it was Dorking who went closest early on, Steve Laidler hitting a post.
Scanes had two penalty claims turned down, and from the second one, Dorking broke upfield to score.
Although keeper Gordon Hearmon parried the inital effort, Craig Duffell scored.
Abingdon's pressure was rewarded in the 70th minute when Joey Beauchamp got himself a yard of space just inside the penalty area and lashed in a superb left-footed shot to follow his hat-trick last week.
However, Dorking grabbed the winner three minutes later when a fine run by Duffell ended with him shooting past Hearmon.
Abingdon were cruelly denied an equaliser after 77 minutes. Beauchamp anticipated a headed backpass and nipped in to toe-poke the ball past Baverstock, only to see the ball roll against the post and rebound into the keeper's arms.
Abingdon: Hearmon, Douglas, Butler, Clare, Davis, Johnson, Abercrombie, Charles, Scanes, Clarke, J Beauchamp.
Attendance: 95.
