A young Oxford United reserve team were on the end of an 8-1 hammering against Bristol City Reserves in Thursday's Pontin's Holiday Combinaton Wales and West clash.
But the remarkable scoreline is all the more extraordinary as the sides were level 0-0 at half-time.
A rampant Bristol City side scored eight second-half goals against a United team which contained only Danny Brown, Jefferson Louis and Jamies Brooks as the senior players.
Stephen Gillespie led the way with a four-timer, with Darren Caskey and Joe Flurry also scoring, before Leroy Lita hit two inside the last minute to rub salt into the wounds.
To add injury to insult, Brooks hobbled off with a leg injury, although it was substitute Craig Davies who got United's goal with a cool finish.
The match was re-arranged at short notice after Monday's scheduled clash was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Oxford: Clarke, R Tweed, Brown (J Tweed 60), Burton, Garner, Howarth, Carbon, Keeble, Louis, Brooks (Davies 70), Winters. Subs not used: Mackay, Beechers.
