A large section of the crowd booed the U's off after they could not break down a solid Boston defence, but Brown claims that a goal was the only thing missing from the performance.
"The fans called for us to play football, and I don't think you can ask for any more on the football front," he said.
"I share their frustration, but all we need is to get goals and a win.
"That's nothing to do with centre forwards - it's to do with all of us as a unit. We need to work harder and be more decisive around the box.
"We had some chances today, and on another day they go in for you.
"Everyone is pleased with the change of style though, because how can you not want to play football?"
Brown was making his first start for four months, and said he was delighted to be back in the United team.
"The only reason I wasn't playing before was because I wasn't picked - it had nothing to do with injuries," he added.
"That's ten games I have started this season and we haven't lost one yet, so the statistics are in my favour.
"I can't wait for Monday. This club can still get promotion because other teams are dropping points around us as well - this is a dogfight."
